PUMA is deepening its connection with African football as it unveils the official Afcon 2025 matchball inspired by Morocco’s zellij art form.

The German sports brand is returning as the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) official technical partner for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

This partnership, which began in 2023, has been significant for football on the continent, Peter Dangl, PUMA’s Director of EEMEA Distribution said.

“With a long history of involvement in African football, PUMA continues its relationship that has influenced many iconic moments in the tournament over the past three decades.

“PUMA has been closely associated with African football for nearly 30 years, outfitting more national teams than any other international brand,” he added.

The brand has been part of memorable moments in African football, supporting teams like Morocco, Cameroon, Senegal, Egypt, and Ivory Coast.

In addition to its on-field presence, PUMA has supported African football through various grassroots and community initiatives including the Cotton Made in Africa program and creative collaborations like the Africa Unity Kit

PUMA’s commitment to African football’s growth

The brand has also worked with legendary players such as Samuel Eto’o, Yaya Touré, and Jay-Jay Okocha as ambassadors for its partnership with African football.

Since 2023, PUMA has been CAF’s official technical partner, providing match balls and referee kits for tournaments like the Africa Cup of Nations.

According to Dangl, this partnership reflects PUMA’s commitment to the growth of African football, encompassing both men’s and women’s elite competitions and grassroots development programs.

He emphasized the brand’s deep roots in African football spanning over 30 years.
