Five learners, driver killed while on educational tour

Five learners and a driver lost their lives in a bus accident while on an educational tour in Durban on Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle and the bus overturned where Grade 10 and 11 learners from Mchitheki secondary school were in transit on the R618 on the way to Hluhluwe Game Reserves.

KZN MEC for Education Mbali Fraser said they are deeply saddened by this tragic motor vehicle accident.

“We would like to send our deepest condolences to the families, school community, all those who were close to our dearly departed and wish the injured a speedy recovery,” MEC Fraser added.
