Free-to-air television channel, etv has announced that there will be no second season of Isiphetho: Destiny with its first season coming to an end in 2025.
The channel said the weeknights telenovela current season will air until its end date on 4 April 2025.
Black Brain Pictures executive producer, Mpumelelo Nhlapo highlighted that taking on the coveted 6:30PM slot has been an honour and, most importantly, a learning curve for them.
Nhlapo thanked the channel for their continuous support and for letting them take on this pivotal role.
“It has been a privilege to create the show, and we would like to thank the entire production team for their hard work and dedication in helping us bring Isiphetho: Destiny to life,” director Mandla N. uttered.
In a statement issued, etv manager of local programming, Vuyelwa Booi expressed gratitude to Black Brain Pictures for their dedication to bringing this story of community, friendship, and second chances to life.

“The captivating tale of four friends in Mzimhlophe resonated with viewers, sparking conversations and keeping them glued to their screens. While a second season is not currently planned, etv is committed to offering viewers a diverse and engaging primetime lineup,” she said.
Booi added that details regarding upcoming programming decisions for the slot will be communicated in due course and stated that they remain committed to providing quality locally produced content and look forward to exciting new projects in the pipeline.
