Legendary filmmaker, producer, and playwright Duma Ndlovu was celebrated at the seventh Royalty Soapie Awards with the prestigious Trailblazer Award.

It highlights his significant and groundbreaking advancements in the world of soap operas.

He is well known in the South African television industry, having created award-winning shows such as Muvhango, Imbewu: The Seed and Uzalo.

Between 1996 and 2004 he was the chairman of the South African Music Awards.
