Two suspects aged 28 were arrested for common robbery and possession of a dangerous weapon in Hillbrow, Johannesburg.

Following robberies happening around Vannin court, JMPD spokesperson Superintendent Xolani Fihla said whilst conducting foot patrols on Sunday at Twist and Pietersen streets, officers heard a lady screaming.
“They noticed two males with one choking her from behind and the other searching her.
“The officers engaged the suspects and managed to apprehend both of them.
“When searched a knife, cellphone, power bank and a drivers license were found in their possession,” he stated.
Fihla added that upon apprehension, it was discovered that the suspects are linked to several robberies in the area including the robbery of tourists as seen in multiple videos circulating on social media.

The suspects were detained at Hillbrow police station.
An inquest docket was opened for further investigation.
