The DStv Premiership side Richards Bay have sacked Kaitano Tembo as head coach.
Tembo was shown the door following a string of poor result with a 1-nil loss against Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium over the weekend adding salt to the wound.
The 53-year-old Zimbabwean-born mentor took the reign at the Natal Rich Boyz in July, however, failed dismally to the KwaZulu-Natal based outfit.
The club confirmed on Christmas day that assistant coach, Vusi Vilakazi will hold the fort in the interim.
“Richards Bay would like to announce the release of the head coach Mr Kaitano Tembo with immediate effect.”
“The Club would like to thank the coach for his contribution during this season. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
Vilakazi to take over from Tembo
“Senior coach Mr Vusi Vilakazi will take over the first team until further notice,” the statement read.
Tembo replaced Vasili Manousakis, who was fired along with his assistants Simo Dladla and Ronnie Gabriel at the end of last season after a poor showing in the second half of the campaign.
The former Babina Noko mentor also coached Matsatsantsa a Pitori, where he won the MTN8 in 2019.
