Gauteng Premier, Panyaza Lesufi and MEC Morakane Mosupyoe handed-over the newly revamped state-of-the-art library to the Rustervaal community on Tuesday afternoon.

The library has a wide stock of books, a study section, a game room and an ICT section. It has dedicated sections for children, teenagers, and adults.
It also offers a range of services for people of all ages and daily library programs are also held at the facility to promote reading.
Some programmes offered include Born to Read, Read Aloud, Spelling Bee, Storytelling, Reading competitions and many more.
During the ceremony, MEC Mosupyoe and Emfuleni municipal mayor, Sipho Radebe, cut the ribbon to officiate the handing-over of the Rustervaal Library to the community.
MEC Mosupyoe together with mayor Radebe and Head of Department, China Mashinini took time to engage and read to the children visiting the library during the library tour.

MEC Mosupyoe stated, “We are happy to hand-over an equipped library like this one. This library is built for you to use it. We will ensure that all resources, such as more ICT equipment, are available in the library.”

The MEC also added, “We are going to develop the open field next to the library for sporting activities, and we appeal to the community to take care of the facility.”
Radebe received the library on behalf of the community and further requested members of the public to look after the newly renovated asset.
