A probe launched following death of premature baby at Sebokeng Hospital

The Gauteng department of Health says it has launched an investigation following an incident involving a mother who lost her premature baby while at Sebokeng Regional Hospital.

In a statement issued, the department said in order to establish facts and circumstances around the incident it has taken a decision to institute an independent investigation into the matter.

“In the meantime, counselling and psychosocial support will be availed to the mother and affected family members,” the department added.
