Sony Music has announced the soundtrack for the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, set to be released on April 24.

The album became available for pre-order on March 13, coinciding with the film’s theatrical release on the same date, under the collaboration of Lionsgate and Universal Pictures.
South Africa occupies a significant role in Michael Jackson’s global legacy, particularly highlighted by the final show of the HIStory World Tour held in Durban on 15 October 1997. This performance marked Jackson’s last full-scale tour, solidifying the country’s importance in his remarkable story.
That moment continues to profoundly affect South Africans, reinforcing their affection for his music and cultural significance, while also generating anticipation for Michael, Songs from the Motion Picture.

According to Luzuko Moyikweni, a junior label manager at Sony Africa, the set pulls together some of the most recognisable songs tied to the late icon’s rise from child star to global phenomenon.
His songs from the motion picture highlight 13 songs showcased in the film, spanning from The Jackson 5 to The Jacksons to Michael’s chart-topping solo success with “Off The Wall” and “Thriller”.
The collection includes smash hits like “Billie Jean”, “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”, “Human Nature” and more.
In theatres April 24, Michael is the cinematic portrayal of the life and legacy of one of the most influential artists the world has ever known.
Detailed in its portrayal, the film explores Michael Jackson’s life beyond his musical achievements, chronicling his early years as the lead of The Jackson 5.

Michael stars Jaafar Jackson in his feature film debut as his uncle, Michael Jackson.
The film features a cast including Nia Long, Juliano Valdi, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, Laura Harrier, Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo. It is directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, a three-time Oscar nominee. The production team comprises Graham King, p.g.a., John Branca, and John McClain.
The album track lists notable songs performed by the Jackson family, highlighting their contributions to music, particularly through the following tracks: “I’ll Be There” and “Never Can Say Goodbye” by the Jackson 5, as well as “Who’s Lovin’ You”.
