One of South Africa’s most celebrated rock band, Prime Circle has parted ways with singer Ross Learmonth due to ‘creative differences’.

However, the band has maintained that it remain resolute in its commitment to continue creating music and entertaining it’s dedicated fan base.
They have achieved multi-platinum-selling status in South Africa and released six studio albums to date: ‘Hello Crazy World’ (2002), ‘Live This Life’ (2005), ‘All or Nothing’ (2008), ‘Jekyll & Hyde’ (2010), ‘Evidence’ (2012) and ‘Let The Night In’ (2014).
In 2016 the band released a deluxe edition of ‘Let the Night In’ to coincide with their latest European tour.
Prime Circle has played at most major local concerts, including the 94.7 Highveld Stereo Jo’burg Day stage, Nelson Mandela 46664 Concerts, Oppikoppi, Splashy Fen, My Coke Fest, Synergy and Rocking the Daisies.
In a statement released, the band said in the music scene dominated by larger genres, they stand strong showcasing their deep dedication to rock and expressing gratitude to their fans who’ve always stood by them.
“Our music connects our fans globally, forging memories and emotions, going beyond just the five of us.
“We look forward to sharing new experiences, introducing our new seasoned frontman, and new music with our fans very soon.
“With a heavy heart, we bid Ross farewell, extending our best wishes for success in all his future endeavours,” the band’s bass player and founding member Marco Gomes said.

The decision comes after a remarkable over two decades career marked by unforgettable performances and chart-topping hits.
Learmonth who released his debut solo album Carousel earlier in 2023 said; “It has been an incredible time with Prime Circle, and I am immensely grateful for the memories we’ve created together.
“However, at this juncture in my life, it’s time for me to move on. All relationships change and evolve, and unfortunately due to creative differences, Prime Circle and I will no longer be continuing this musical journey together.”

According to the band, the energy will be the same, but the talent will evolve into a new and exciting form while maintaining the its signature high standard.
“Throughout this journey, the band has not only shaped our identities but has been the bedrock supporting our lives and families for the past 23 years, a connection we will never take for granted,” Guitarist Dirk Bisschoff concluded.
