SAPS De Deur, Vereeniging FCS, and AGAPE visited Tebohong Kindergarten in Lakeside Estate on Wednesday as part of the observance of Child Protection Week.

This event highlighted their collective commitment to children’s welfare and protection within the community.
Men and women in blue engaged kindergarten pupils to educate them about the importance of a safe environment, potential crimes against them, and reporting procedures for mistreatment.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), ensuring the safety of children is of paramount importance.
The police emphasize that this responsibility extends beyond authorities; they are urging all parents to take an active role in caring for and protecting their children.
“It is also emphasised that parents should critically observe their children’s behavioural patterns so that they are able to identify when something is not right.
Promoting child safety
“These are the future stars of our communities; caring for them now is protecting and nurturing the future of the community. How we raise these pupils will determine the kind of adults we will have tomorrow.
