The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Gauteng have effected mayoral committee changes in City of Ekurhuleni (CoE).
Commissar Thembi Msane has been appointed as the MMC for energy water and sanitation, while Fighter Leshaka Manamela moves to the portfolio of environment and waste management services.
The pair took oath of office on Monday afternoon in Germiston, east of Johannesburg.
Red Beret provincial chairperson Nkululeko Dunga said they have decided on this redeployment with an aim to strengthen and reinforce the good work already done by the its deployees in the CoE.
Manamela, the regional chairperson, has been serving as a member of the mayoral committee for the past five months.
Dunga said Fighter Leshaka has brought in stability and introduced key initiatives in the energy, water and sanitation department and he is expected to continue the work under the department of waste and environment management.
Commissar Msane is a Central Command Team member, also served as a member of the Provincial Legislature in KwaZulu Natal and Member Parliament of the Republic of South Africa.
She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Studies and African Policy from the University of Johannesburg.

“Her deployment will be a worthy addition in the EFF Caucus and the Mayoral Committee where the party has already made exceptional progress in providing service delivery and improving the finances of the City,” Dunga stated.
