Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of Molefi Ntseki as their head coach.

The Soweto giants said it met with Ntseki on Monday morning where a decision was taken to part ways amicably by mutual consent following recent run of disappointing results.

Amakhosi were knocked out of the opening round of the Carling Black Label Cup by AmaZulu at FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Saturday.

The loss which was the last straw for Ntseki at the helm, ultimately spelled continuation of trophy drought in the cabinet of the once glamourous cup specialists.

Technical changes on the bench as Ntseki departs

The Naturena-based outfit said Cavin Johnson will take over as the First Team coach on an interim basis with current assistant coach, Dillon Sheppard retaining his position under Johnson.

Assistant Coach, Arthur Zwane will return to his former role within the development structures of the Club.

Coach Ntseki arrived at Chiefs in June 2021 as Head of Technical and Youth Development.

He took over as the senior team Head Coach in June 2023.

“I would like to thank Coach Ntseki for his contribution to the Club since he arrived here, both at development level and with the senior team.

“We wish him success in his future endeavours,” said Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr.

Chiefs are placed eighth on the DStv Premiership table with eleven points having played nine matches.

Their next match encounter is away to Golden Arrows on Saturday afternoon.
