A crime prevention warden who was shot and killed by unknown suspects in Orange Farm extension 10, on Friday, October 13, was laid to rest over the weekend.
35-year-old Jabulani Gininda, was shot in broad daylight at a taxi rank while on duty.
The incident occurred after Gininda dropped off his colleagues whom he was transporting from a training college.
Gauteng Premier, Panyaza Lesufi and Gauteng Community Safety MEC, Faith Mazibuko, joined the family members, colleagues and friends for Gininda’s final send-off at the Orange Farm Community Hall.
Relaying message of condolences Lesufi said; “It’s days like these that makes us to believe that we are fighting a bigger battle than we thought it is.
“There are criminals who have taken a decision to be lawless, not to respect lives, any property and our communities.
“We feel the pain that the families are going through and many other families that are going to go through the same if we don’t stop this time called crime, Lesufi stated.
The premier further thanked Gininda’s family for allowing Jabu to assist in fighting crime.

“Unfortunately, he paid the ultimate price for us to save our community. We will be with you in good and bad times. What you are doing is not a calling but a commitment to make our society to live in peace.
“There are those who choose not to live with us in peace and must not be amongst our communities,” he added.
Lesufi revealed a breakthrough in Gininda’s murder case with apprehension of suspect.
