Premier league side Burnley FC has shared an update on Lyle Foster’s illness.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the club said the 23-year-old Bafana Bafana striker continues to live with issues around his mental well-being and has reached out for help.
“He is currently in the care of specialists – giving him the support and care he needs to help him back to full health.
“With the love and support of his family and everyone at Burnley Football Club, we will do all we can to provide everything he needs to get better.”
The club further asked for Foster’s privacy around the matter.

The 23-year-old South Africa international joined The Clarets from Belgian club Westerlo in January 2023.
He has made seven appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring three goals. He last featured for the club on October 21.
Lyle Foster receives support
Recently, he signed a new five-year contract with the Clarets, keeping him at Turf Moor until 2028.
The team’s manager Vincent Kompany said “As a club we have very quickly and very naturally made the decision to fully support him, support his family and offer him all the access to the expertise and clinical support he needs.
“We are wishing him a speedy recovery and we are wishing him to be in a better place by the time he is ready to come back to us.
“We will provide all the best care in the world possible to help him get over his mental-health issues.
“In moments like this you have to put the human first and that is what we did.
“We are doing everything we can to get him to a place where he can do what he enjoys doing the most which is playing football as soon as possible.”
