DStv Premiership defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns have officially unveiled new Argentine midfielder Matias Esquivel.

The 24-year-old left-footed playmaker joins log leaders on a four-and-a-half year deal from South American outfit Club Atlético Lanús.
“The midfielder joins Masandawana as the second arrival of the mid-season window, following defender Zuko Mdunyelwa who joined in December 2023.
“Esquivel has joined up with his new teammates at Chloorkop as Bafana Ba Style returned from their break to gear up for the second half of the season,” the statement read.
Esquivel made his professional debut for Lanús in a 1-0 Argentine Primera División win over Racing Club on 8 December 2019.
Bidding farewell Esquivel, Lanús tweeted; “As a footballer of the institution, Esquivel has registered 95 games and seven goals in all competitions.
