Motorists have been strongly advised to urgently renew vehicle licence discs and driving licence cards before the Easter long weekend to prevent travel delays.
Hundreds of thousands of vehicle licence discs and driving licence cards on the Natis system will expire at the end of March.
According to the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), 700 399 vehicle licence discs will be expiring in this period and will need to be renewed. This will affect 259 563 vehicles in Gauteng.
Western Cape leads with 116,633 vehicles, followed by KwaZulu-Natal (98,735), Mpumalanga (51,198), Limpopo (45,240), Eastern Cape (44,840), North West (36,335), Free State (31,964), and Northern Cape (15,891).
