According to the National SAPS spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, a Nigerian national was coerced into closing his business due to intimidation from a group asserting that foreign nationals are prohibited from running businesses in South Africa.

Brig. Mathe revealed that the department of home affairs subsequently verified the individual’s documentation and confirmed that he was legally in the country and had valid documentation to run his business.
