The Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) has rejected claims and inquiries alleging that it possesses a J50 warrant of arrest for Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

The organization has denied these claims and dismissed assertions as false, emphasizing that they are deserving of contempt and unworthy of consideration.
According to Henry Mamothame, spokesperson for the directorate, the KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner is not being sought for arrest.
“These rumours are clearly started to disrupt and distract the work of IDAC, as well as the responsibilities that Gen. Mkhwanazi is discharging in the fight against crime,” he remarked.
He urged members of society to be vigilant against false information circulated on social media platforms, aimed at destabilising and discrediting law enforcement in the country.
IDAC mum on Cat’s ‘deal’
Meanwhile, IDAC has remained mum on allegations suggesting that Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, a key figure in a corruption case, is willing to provide information over a possible plea deal.
This case involves a contentious R228 million tender awarded to Matlala’s company, Medicare24 Tshwane District, by the South African Police Service (SAPS).
Reports indicate that Matlala feels betrayed, claiming that suspended police minister Senzo Mchunu and high-ranking police officials did not adequately support him, leading to his arrest during a raid at his homes and offices.

Matlala, along with senior police officers, faced court proceedings in Pretoria concerning various charges, including corruption and fraud linked to the tender.
Notably, suspended SAPS National Commissioner Fannie Masemola is among the co-accused, confronting multiple serious charges, such as breaches of the Public Finance Management Act, fraud, money laundering, and other forms of financial misconduct.
