A female educator from Thuto-Lore Comprehensive School in Sharpeville who was reported missing has been found dead in Dlomo dam on Saturday.
According to the Gauteng department of education, the 34-year-old English teacher did not report to work on Thursday, May 2.
While Stella Skosana, had not been at work since April 29, her boyfriend only alerted the family a couple of days later that she had disappeared after the couple allegedly had a minor domestic dispute.
Subsequently, MEC Matome Chiloane confirmed that a missing persons case was filed at a local police station on Friday.
He added; “Sadly, her lifeless body was allegedly found on Saturday at Dlomo Dam near her home. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.”
The MEC confirmed that the Pscyho-Social Support Unit will also be deployed to the school to provide necessary trauma support and counselling.
“It is truly heartbreaking that another female educator from same school was brutally murdered. This raises serious concerns around the safety of female educators in the community.
