Maleka, aged 30, was fatally shot while off duty on Sizanani Street, Extension 6A, Orange Farm, shortly after completing his shift.
According to police preliminary reports, Officer Maleka allegedly visited a companion at a residence and, while seated in his vehicle, was approached by unidentified suspects.
“The suspects allegedly forcibly removed the female passenger from the vehicle before opening fire on Officer Maleka.
“Tragically, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) pronounced the officer deceased at the scene after he sustained fatal injuries.
