In a heart-warming initiative aimed at enriching local communities, Carnival City in partnership with Afrisun Trust recently made an impact at Tsimong Primary School, in Kwa-Thema.

About 300 essential parcels that contained sanitary pads and snacks were donated to young girls aged from eight to 13, providing much-needed support to help them flourish on their educational journeys.

The sanitary pads donation helps keep teenagers in school during their monthly periods.

Nqobile Zwane, the school principal said; “Some miss days of school each month because they cannot afford sanitary pads. This donation is essential, as it ensures that our pupils do not miss lessons, which is crucial for their learning and development.”

It has become an inevitable nationwide obligation to raise funds for the donation of sanitary pads to young girls.

Inconvenience due to lack of sanitary towels

This is a commendable gesture because no girl should miss a class due to the lack of pads.

The initiative led by Mduduzi Madonsela, Carnival City’s Socio-Economic Development Specialist, the visit was met with overwhelming gratitude from the school kids.

“The joy and appreciation expressed by the children underscored the meaningfulness of this outreach and reflects our commitment to uplift those in need,” he explained.

He added by saying the highlight of the day came when the children joyfully broke into song and clapped to thank the Carnival City team, which was an emotional gesture that resonated deeply with everyone present.
