Moja Love’s Fake Gobela presenter Gogo Mathambo passed away on Tuesday morning following a short illness, the station confirmed.

In a statement released, the television channel said Mathambo (real name Sthembele Gaju) passed away on Tuesday morning following a short illness.

Mathambo was one of Emalahleni FM‘s weekly contributors on Emthonjeni Wepilo where he was interpreting dreams and helping their listeners with their spiritual challenges.

He later joined Moja Love as presenter for new hit show, Fake Gobela.

In October this year, Sangomas led by the Traditional Healers Organisation (THO), marched to the offices of the channel in Rosebank, north of Joburg to complain about the airing of “fake” izangoma show.

They said they were tired of the fake traditional healers whose shows are aired on the channel as it misrepresent and undermines real traditional healers.

“Gogo Mathambo displayed a courageous spirit in exposing fake sangomas and Gobela and the injustices happening in that space. The channel sends its deepest condolences to his family, friends and fans. His contribution will be hugely missed,” the statement read.

Funeral arrangements will be communicated during the course of the week.
