The much-anticipated “Scorpion Kings Live with Friends” concert is set to run from afternoon until late into the night, with the addition of a pre-show stage showcasing some of South Africa’s top performers.

Fans will be treated to a day full of music starting from 2pm.

The stadium will host sets from new-school artists to old-school artists.

Acts such as Durban Gogo, Blxckie, 25K, Venom, Dlala Thukzin, Dinho, Christos, Vinny Da Vinci, Ba Bethe Gashoazen, and Banques will be giving fans an early taste of the country’s musical range.

There will also be a very special guest appearance by Nigerian Afrobeats heavyweight Davido, who is set to raise the roof of the stadium.

“Davido is family. Having him with us makes this a truly continental moment,” said DJ Maphorisa.

Kabza De Small echoed the sentiment, adding, “We’ve built this line-up to be history-making and Davido is the perfect final piece.”

Maphorisa hinted during an interview with Metro FM that there would be a surprise with other Nigerian superstars, Wizkid and Burna Boy, on their sophomore album.

Their fans can expect to see some of the biggest names in South African music, including Mafikizolo, Ami Faku, Msaki, MaWhoo, the legendary Oskido, and more. This will happen before the main Amapiano event begins.

Over the past couple of years, Amapiano has transcended borders, flooding charts, festivals, and dance floors across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. At its core, it remains deeply rooted in the pulse of South Africa.

The festival will also pay tribute to an 84-year-old renowned South African composer and musician, Caiphus Semenya, who will be honoured live on the night.

Scorpion Kings to blend musical heritage

In a special segment, the Scorpion Kings will present a remix of one of Semenya’s timeless classics, blending South Africa’s rich musical heritage with today’s Amapiano rhythms.

In partnership with Gautrain and PRASA, event-goers will now have access to seamless train travel to and from the stadium, making the journey as exciting as the show itself.
