The Forum for South Africa (FOSA) believes that the current Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) policy is not effective. This opinion is shared by Tebogo Mashilompane
What was meant to empower disadvantaged South Africans has instead become a tool for politicians and their close allies to enrich themselves.
BEE was never meant to benefit a few politically connected individuals.
It was meant to open opportunities for all South Africans — especially the poor, the unemployed, and small business owners who continue to struggle every day.
Review current BEE system
FOSA calls for the complete review or scrapping of the current BEE system. South Africa needs a fair and transparent economic empowerment model that truly benefits the majority, not just a handful of elites.

True empowerment must mean development, opportunity, and economic inclusion for all citizens — not wealth for the few.
