The visit to the church and community comes after a Pastor was shot dead and others injured as robbers took off with valuables.

Pastor Dwayne Gordon was a guest speaker at the church when he was shot, and three others injured on Friday night.

The live feed that has made headline on social media showed Gordon preaching to the congregation before the suspects shot fire, robbing people off their cell phones and other belongs before flying the scene.

Speaking on television channel Newzroom Afrika, Makhubele said as the City they are disturbed and confused with what is happening in the area.

Police have since launched a manhunt for the alleged six suspects who shot and killed a pastor during a live church service.

“It’s a sombre day for a Sunday, a church is a place of safety where people come to find answers and comfort but for this to happen [at the church] in front of children and women it’s really disturbing.

“It does seem like from one day to the next we don’t know what to expect. We ‘ve been trying to calm the society and talk to them to stop the gun violence.

“We’re involved in a number of gun initiatives but it doesn’t seem to be working and if it has escalated to places of worship that’s scary for us.

Makhubele stated that they are dealing with animals and not human-beings anymore.

She added; “This sort of behaviour again shows that we’ve lost all form of social control in this City.

“There’s no social order, there’s no one bringing order actively in our communities especially in these ones [communities] that are suffering so much from disorder, instability and as I stand here I’m shocked.

“We need help from national, province it is a crisis and I don’t know how else to say it and no one seems to be really paying due attention.”
