The Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) will host the Security Symposium on Tuesday at the Saul Tsotetsi Sports and Recreation Centre in Sebokeng.
According to GPG’s Lebogang Lukhele, the symposium will provide an opportunity for the provincial government to engage with private security companies.
“This in a bid to strengthen the fight against crime, particularly in Townships, Informal Settlements, and Hostels (TISH) areas.
“It is also part of the provincial government’s initiative to form partnerships with the private sector to find innovative solutions to eliminate crime, corruption, vandalism, and lawlessness.
“Security companies play an important role in safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens by providing armed and emergency response.

“Their work is closely linked to Law Enforcement Agencies as they ensure public safety, surveillance, and visibility.
