Former Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr. Naledi Pandor has refuted allegations made by Julius Malema that she received a bond for her house from VBS bank.

Speaking in an interview on SABC on Tuesday night, the EFF leader said that some African National Congress (ANC) leaders including Pandor benefited from the now-defunct VBS Mutual Bank.
“Naledi Pandor was also in the VBS bond or something. Yes, she was there. Your (media) darlings, you’ll never know (expose) their names.
“You (media) know the names of those you don’t like to demonstrate there’s no principle.
“Many names (a lot) are there. This (VBS) is just used to blackmail people. When they try to speak, they say … we’ll release this thing about you,” Malema uttered.
Reacting to the statement uttered, Pandor said upon returning from an overseas trip [in Canada] on Wednesday morning, she was informed of a baseless claim made by Malema.
She highlighted that the public is wondering as she has never had bond from VBS any bank outside Cape Town because her home is in Cape Town and that’s where she had a mortgage from.
Malema challenge to present evidence
“I unequivocally deny ever receiving such a bond and challenge Mr. Malema to publicly present the evidence supporting this falsehood.
“Should he fail to do so, I demand a public apology for not only lying about me but also tarnishing my reputation.
Pandor stated that as a leader of a political party represented in parliament, she is deeply disappointed by Malema’s dishonesty.
She added; “It is appalling that he would resort to such low tactics in an attempt to damage my good name.”
Meanwhile, Malema revealed that minister Thembi Nkadimeng is not In trouble because of VBS, but for fighting for the independence of the National Prosecuting Authority.

“When she put her foot down, they went for her. They want to kill her, they want all of them and all that. They are now using VBS as a smokescreen. She did not commit VBS now, as a minister of justice.
“Why was she not the face of VBS when the EFF was the face of VBS … what happened now for them to go for her, where were these allegations,” he asked.
