Midvaal Local Municipality held the third annual Mayoral Youth Summit.

The event at the Midvaal Christian Centre had many young people. They came to take advantage of the opportunities offered. The event also brought in more partners to help create chances for young people.
Mayor Peter Teixeira emphasized that, as promised, the Youth Summit brought together many groups.
These included government agencies, private-sector partners, NGOs, and NPOs. They showcased their services and provided help to young people throughout the day.
“From the start of the Youth Summit, we promised young people that the program would not just be talk. It would create real results that give them chances to build a better life and future.
“As a government that is closest to the people, we see the big challenges facing youth. These include poverty, unemployment, lack of opportunities, inequality, and other social issues that affect them.”
Teixeira said that they are focused on building support and partnerships in this situation.
