Gauteng Education has urged for calm as talks with scholar transport providers continue; outstanding payments are being processed.

The department said it is working in good faith with service providers to find an amicable, sustainable resolution.
“We reiterate our appeal for the uninterrupted provision of scholar transport services in the best interests of learners who depend on the programme for safe and consistent access to education,” said Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane.

He added, “We’ll constructively engage all stakeholders, confident in a resolution, and ask for calm while diligently finalising the matter through required processes.”
