Ringo’s incredible Valentine’s Experience at Carnival City

Multi-award-winning Ringo Madlingozi is set to headline the Valentine’s experience concept at Big Top Arena’s Carnival City on February 15.

Lovers will be spoilt for choice a day after a Valentine’s when the Ndiyagodola hitmaker takes them down memory lane.

South Africa’s rhythm and blues sensation will perform his classic hits and romantic melodies, making it an ideal evening for couples seeking a night filled with love and music.

Known for classic hits such as Sondela, Baleka, and Kum Nakum – Ringo was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the South African Music Awards (Samas) late last year.

Before that, the musician who has been in the entertainment industry for nearly four decades, ditched politics for the ‘purpose of healing through music.’

Madlingozi recently released a new song, after eight years of not putting anything out.

He said the song, Ufikile Ekuseni, which is the first of many to come this year, is about self-love and for people who never feel the need to fight or complain.

Ringo first rose to fame when he and his band Peto won the Shell Road to Fame contest in 1986. He later formed a group called Gecko Moon with Alan Cameron, a fellow Peto member.

In the late 1990s, he collaborated with the internationally acclaimed group UB40 as part of a United Nations Global AIDS awareness programme, where he recorded Xhosa lyrics for “Cover Up.”

Over the years, he has received multiple awards for his albums.
