Some of South Africa’s greatest musicians such as Sjava and Ringo will share a stage in a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration in Carnival City, on Saturday evening.

The magnificent show will be held at Big Top Arena and will kick start at 20:00.

The multi-award-winning artists join the line-up that features another top artist, Lwah Ndlunkulu.

In the event, Sjava will be teaming up with the legendary Ringo Madlingozi, whose timeless hits have captivated audiences for decades.

After disappearing for years in the music industry, the multi-award-winning Ringo has released a healing new single that highlights the importance of self-love.

“The song is all about encouraging self-love, ufikile ekuseni [s/he came in the morning]. Let that person in the morning to you as well and make it a habit that you look yourself in the mirror and say – ‘I love you baby’, he explained.

Like a true performer, he kept on telling stories in between the songs and took every chance to engage with his audience, giving them sing-along opportunities.

The Ndiyagodola hitmaker is a singer, songwriter, and record producer, who rose to fame when he and his band Peto won the Shell Road to Fame contest in 1986. He later formed a group called Gecko Moon with Alan Cameron, a fellow Peto member.

For over three decades, Ringo has blessed the South African music industry with the lyrics to which many were conceived, and love stories were anchored.

Sjava working his way up

The African Trap singer, Afro-pop singer, Rhythm and Blues and actor, Sjava, believes in working hard to promote his brand instead of relying on superstardom to bring success his way.

The award-winning musician intends to use the universal language that is music to play his part in uniting South Africans because, for him, the power of music lies more than just in entertainment.

Reflecting on his journey since the release of his groundbreaking debut album Isina Muva in 2016, he said he is satisfied with how his career has evolved.

Born Jabulani Hadebe in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal, 39 years ago, began his acting career in 2005.

“Looking back, there’s nothing I would change,” he said.

Lwah Ndlunkulu, real name Lwandile Mtshali, a girl from the KZN northern small town of Hluhluwe, people buzzing over her music and her superstardom status was always out of reach for her.

The “first lady” of Nkabi Records, made waves at the 2024 South African Music Awards.

However, before fame and glory, the 24-year-old songstress worked as a waitress, later joining Hillbrow Radio 24/7 as an on-air personality – an eye-opening experience that first served as a window to what the life of a musician looked like.
