This is not an anti-ruling party club, we do not hate the ANC but what it has done in South Africa, says opposition parties.
The Democratic Alliance leader John Steenhuisen has implored the leaders of opposition parties to put aside their differences for the benefit of the moonshot pact.
Seven political parties comprising of the DA, IFP, FF Plus, ActionSA, ISANCO, UIM and the SNP are taking part in the moonshot pact convention currently underway in Kempton Park, east of Johannesburg.
The parties will discuss the terms to form a coalition that will unseat the ANC after the 2024 general election.
Steenhuisen says this gathering of like-minded parties represents the citizens of South Africa.
“What we’re doing here over the next two days will be for the people of South Africa. An agreement for people of not only Durban, Hammanskraal, or Cape Town but for every town and city across our country,” he expressed.

The IFP’s Velenkosini Hlabisa said; “This is not an anti-ruling party club. Our reason for convening here is much more important. We do not hate ANC but we hate what the ANC have done in South Africa”.
