Betway Premiership side Chippa United Football Club confirmed that Stanley Nwabali has formally submitted a request to depart the club, ending his four-year stint.

The Nigerian national joined Chippa from Kastina United in 2022 on a four-year contract. His contract, which is set to expire this year, was extended by 3 years in 2024; however, he asked to leave the club.
According to reports, the 29-year-old shot-stopper will not be short of suitors, as he is strongly linked to Moroccan giant Raja Casablanca, Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq and Queens Park Rangers of England.
His last appearance for the club was in October 2025, in a goalless draw against Magesi, after which he reportedly picked up an injury that cast doubts over his AFCON participation.
Nwabali later played through the reported injury but has yet to make an appearance for Chippa since November.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Gqeberha-based outfit said after careful consideration, they [club] have agreed to grant his release.
“We would like to sincerely thank Stanley Nwabali for the years of service, commitment, and professionalism he has shown during his time at Chippa United Football Club.

“His contribution to the club will always be appreciated. The club wishes Stanley every success in the next chapter of his career and in all his future endeavours,” chairman Siviwe Mpengesi remarked.
Nwabali bids farewell
“It was more than a family. To my lovely teammates, dear coaches, amazing fans and great chairman: as I stand here to say farewell, a part of me will always remain with this club.
“I wish you success and happiness in the seasons ahead. Thank you and farewell. Until we meet again,” he wrote.
