Gauteng Police carried out a high-impact crime-combating operation in Sebokeng, located in the Vaal region, south of Johannesburg.

This coordinated law enforcement effort, known as Operation Shanela, took place within the Sebokeng police precinct and led to the arrest of a total of 128 suspects.
Of these, 102 had been apprehended prior to the day of the operation, while an additional 26 were arrested during the operation itself.
The primary objective of this initiative was to bolster crime prevention strategies and enhance safety within the community.
Among those apprehended were individuals wanted for serious crimes, including murder, rape, and assault.
Furthermore, several of the arrested individuals face charges related to grievous bodily harm (GBH) and include undocumented foreign nationals.
The suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
