The entertainment industry is still reeling with shock following the deaths of Radio personality Thabiso Sikwane and Poet Jessica Mbangeni.
The Sikwane and Matladi families announced the passing of Thabiso on Saturday.
In a statement, family spokesperson said; “It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of Thabiso, whose dedication and passion for Christ, family life and the Media and Entertainment industry left an indelible mark on colleagues and audiences alike.
“During her illustrious career on Radio and TV she produced, hosted and covered significant events, shaped narratives, and inspired many.
“We are deeply saddened by this loss, and pray her legacy will continue to inspire future generations. Memorial and Funeral arrangements will be communicated in the coming days.”
Thato Sikwane (popularly known as DJ Fresh) shared his heartfelt thoughts on the tragic and unexpected passing of his former wife and mother of his children.
On Friday he hosted Thabiso on his podcast WAW What A Week today and wrote on X “We have known each other since she read news on my show in 1998, & this is the first time I interview her. I’M Excited & nervous”.
Meanwhile, poet Bishop Jessica Mbangeni also passed away, aged 47.

Born in August 22, 1977 in Nqamakwe in the Eastern Cape, Mbangeni rose to prominence after participating in the Soweto Gospel Choir in 2006.
The family described Jessica as beacon of light, a voice of wisdom, and a source of inspiration to many.
“Our beloved mother, sister and people’s praise poet, has left us to join the ancestors.
“Her contributions to our community and the world as a praise poet, spiritual leader, and cultural ambassador were immeasurable, and her legacy will live on n the hearts of those she touched.
“During this difficult time, we kindly ask for privacy as we mourn her passing. We are deeply appreciative of the love and support from friends, fans, and the community, but we request that you give us the space to grieve as a family.”
