Spirit of Praise ready to shake up Joburg

Joburgers are in for a treat next week as the renowned gospel powerhouse Spirit of Praise takes to the Big Top Arena stage at Carnival City in Ekurhuleni.

The highly anticipated spiritual showcase is set for Saturday, December 6, kicking off at 18:00.

The line-up features a dynamic cast of celebrated worship leaders and vocalists, including Mpumi, Nontokozo, Dumi Mkokstad, Sindi Ntombela, Omega Khunou, and many more—each set to lead audiences into a powerful atmosphere of praise, faith, and unity.

Organisers say the event will deliver “a powerful evening of praise and worship, bringing together some of South Africa’s most celebrated gospel voices for a soul-stirring musical journey that will uplift, inspire, and renew.”

Spirit of Praise’s resilience

In a surprising twist earlier this year, award-winning gospel musician, songwriter, and revered pastor Benjamin Dube announced his departure from the Spirit of Praise collective to embark on a new chapter in his calling.

Dube has been the anchor and spiritual pillar of the group since its inception in 2008.

In a heartfelt message to fans, he reflected on his journey with Spirit of Praise, noting that stepping away was “far from an easy decision.”
