Johannesburg transport MMC Kenny Kunene has accused Finance MMC Dada Morero of attempting of making his department fail.
Kunene claims Morero is blocking funds allocated to transporting companies in the city such as Metrobus, Joburg Road Agency and Metropolitan Trading Company (MTC).
He claims the former mayor is bitter and has partnered with handlers who benefit from corruption when the city was under the ANC.
Briefing the media at the city’s offices in Braamfontein on Thursday, Kunene said Morero wants business people closer to him to run the city’s IT company.
He further stated that Morero secretly met with MTC acting CEO and CFO and gave them instructions, threatening to hold back its finances if they don’t abide.
“I am being attacked by Dada [Morero] because I am standing between him, handing over the city of Johannesburg to Neville Pillay and former city treasurer William Mathamela the way the late Geoff Makhubo did.

“I refused and I will never do that. There will be no sinking fund happening here that will go to his handlers. There will be no capturing of MTC by Morero and his cronies,” he concluded.
