Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of several players including Keagan Dolly ahead of the 2024/25 DStv Premier Soccer League season.
Dolly, who arrived in 2021 from France amid much fanfare but failed to live up to expectations as a result of being plagued by injuries and made 67 appearances for Chiefs.
The midfield-maestro garnered attention not just for his skills on the field but also for his substantial earnings commands a remarkable monthly salary of approximately R1.45 million.
Among those who were also given their marching orders includes Siyethemba Sithebe, S’fiso Hlanti, Njabulo Ngcobo and Colombian striker, Efmamjjasond Gonzalez.
The club completed its woeful season since inception in May by finishing in tenth position on the log.
Although they are yet to official announce a new head coach, players and technical staff returned to Club headquarters in Naturena at the start of the week for testing, assessments and pre-season training.
In a statement issued, Amakhosi said they are resolute in their determination to rectify the situation and ensure we turn things around in the new season.
“We have thoroughly reviewed the season and have begun making appropriate changes as we get underway with preparations for the new season.
“Members of management and the technical team will be working tirelessly over the next few weeks to ensure that the team hits the ground running when the 2024/25 season begins at the start of August,” the statement read.
Goalkeeper coach leaves Kaizer Chiefs
The Glamour Boys also released Coach Rainer Dinkelacker, who was recalled at the start of the season to assist in the goalkeeping department, has left as per agreement.

“We thank him and his family for allowing him to leave Germany and rejoin the team to share his knowledge with the coaches and our goalkeepers,” the club said.
