Police in the Free State are seeking assistance from the public to trace the suspects involved in a business robbery that occurred in Parys.

Suspects fled the scene with undisclosed amount of cash.

According to reports, it is alleged that on Friday morning, at about 09:15, three employees, one male and two females, arrived at their business premises.

Free State police spokesperson, Sergeant Josephine Rani, said as they entered the store, the male employee was forced into the store by an unknown male speaking Sesotho and IsiZulu, who held a metal object which felt like a firearm to his neck.

“Upon entering, the male employee was tied up with cable ties and placed at the back bathroom, while the two women were taken to the office where they were also tied up with cable ties.

Suspects flees with cash

“The suspect managed to open the safe, take an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled the scene on foot, leaving the three employees locked in the store until they were able to call for help,” she explained.

Sgt Rani appealed to anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts to contact Detective Warrant Officer Brian Van Rensburg on 082 466 8094 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 alternatively submit an anonymous tip-off via MySAPS App.
