The National Arts Council of SA (NAC) has announced the appointment of Julie Diphofa as its interim chief executive officer (CEO).

Diphofa has been at the helm of the organisation as the acting CEO whilst the entity was undergoing the process of the search for a permanent CEO.
She holds a master’s degree from the University of Witwatersrand and has served the NAC for over twenty years.
The recent announcement by minister Zizi Kodwa that the department of sports, arts and culture has commenced with the process of merging the NAC and the National Film Video and Foundation, has led to the postponement of the CEO recruitment process of the NAC.
“This recruitment process will only resume after the conclusion of the amalgamation of the two entities,” NAC chairperson Princess Celenhle Dlamini said.

She also stated that the interim CEO’s term will be tied to the conclusion of the amalgamation process.
“The NAC Council is delighted that Diphofa has accepted the responsibility to continue leading the entity. We remain confident in her leadership as she continues to play a role in growing the stability of the organisation and how she serves the arts community professionally, passionately and with excellence,” she expressed.
Dlamini further added that Reshma Bhoola has also been appointed as the interim chief financial officer for a similar term.
