Lebogang Manyama has joined the DStv Premiership side, Cape Town City as an assistant coach in Eric Tinkler’s technical team.

The Cape-side confirmed the appointment of the former club captain in a different role.
“Cape Town City are delighted to confirm the appointment of former club captain Lebogang Manyama as an assistant coach in Eric Tinkler’s technical team. Welcome home, Lebza!” the Citizens tweeted.
The former Bafana Bafana star who also donned the colours of Ajax Cape Town and Kaizer Chiefs called time on his career at the tender age of 32.
Manyama parted ways with Chiefs at the end of the 2021/22 season after been sidelined for over 15 months due to an injury. This came after a persistent knee injury that cruelly cut short his illustrious career.Â
Manyama’s impressive record
Throughout his professional football career spanning 12 seasons, Manyama accumulated an impressive record of 320 appearances, during which he netted 55 goals and provided 39 assists.
He is also the recipient of the 2016/17 PSL Footballer of the Year and collected the PSL Players’ Player of the Season six years ago.
Kaka as he is known said; “I’m delighted to join this technical team. I have so many great memories here with coach Eric, and I always said I will be back one day to add more success. This club is home to me.”
His appointment is set to re-ignite Cape Town City with the club looking to bounce back from a five-match winless streak.
